A bullet was discovered on a Medina school bus Thursday afternoon, according to Medina City Schools Superintendent Aaron Sable. In an email to parents, Sable said the bullet was found by a bus driver during routine cleaning after an elementary school bus run.

The driver reported it immediately to authorities and all the students who were on the bus at the time were searched, and nothing further was found.

Police were notified and are actively involved in the investigation, Sable said. As a precaution, a police officer rode the bus home with students afterward.

Sable said that no threats were received, and there are no active threats to Medina schools.

"We want to reassure you that the safety of our students remains our top priority. Families of the students who ride the bus, as well as those at the involved elementary school, have been notified directly. We also encourage all parents and students to continue reporting anything that appears to be unusual. It’s through these collective efforts that we can maintain a safe environment for our schools," Sable said via email.

Information can be reported to the district anonymously through the Safe School Helpline . Anyone with concerns or questions can reach out to Sable as well, he said.
