FirstEnergy, Akron Marathon renew partnership for 3 more years

The Akron Marathon Charitable Corporation and FirstEnergy Corp. have renewed their partnership for three more years, through 2027.

This partnership will ensure continued financial, volunteer and other resource contributions that help make the annual Akron Marathon, Half Marathon and Team Relay possible, the marathon said in a news release.

FirstEnergy will specifically provide shoe recycling stations and HydraPak cups; the latter aims to reduce the use of single-use paper cups, according to the news release.
