The No. 1 high school football recruit in the Greater Akron/Canton area is one step closer to finding a college.

Hoban cornerback Elbert “Rock” Hill has narrowed his choices down to 10 schools. On3.com broke the news Friday and the junior confirmed it in a tweet.

Hill is ranked No. 16 overall and is the top cornerback in the country according to On3.com , ESPN and Rivals.com.

The 5-foot-10, 180-pound cornerback has more than 25 offers, but has whittled the list to Ohio State, Tennessee, Oregon, Michigan, Texas A&M, USC, Alabama, Notre Dame, Penn State and UCLA.

"I think Rock has handled this process very well and very professionally," Hoban coach Tim Tyrrell told the Beacon Journal Friday. "He is taking his time and looking at each school individually."

Hill was a big part of the Knights’ last two state runner-up teams and was a first-team All-Ohioan last season after he logged seven interceptions, two for touchdowns, and 10 pass breakups . He scored a total of nine touchdowns in 2023.

He has helped Hoban get off to a 4-1 start this season.

Hill will take an unofficial visit this weekend to Tuscaloosa, Ala ., to watch No. 4 Alabama take on No. 2 Georgia.
