Fire on Mulligan Way in Akron on Wednesday leaves 1 woman injured

A fire Wednesday afternoon in Akron left one person injured.

Fire officials say they responded to a report of an apartment on fire on Mulligan Way around 3:40 p.m.

Firefighters encountered heavy smoke and flames coming from the rear of the structure.

Authorities say a 26-year-old female suffered smoke inhalation and had to be taken to an Akron hospital for treatment.

The extent of her injuries were not disclosed.

Investigators are still working to determine a cause of the fire.
