Nominations due Nov. 1 for 2025 Woman of the Year Award

The Women’s History Project of the Akron Area is accepting nominations through Nov. 1 for the 2025 Woman of the Year Award.

A program of the Summit County Historical Society , the project honors local women who have contributed to the community. Award recipients will be recognized March 12 at a celebration during Women’s History Month. The event will be part of Akron’s bicentennial celebration.

Woman of the Year Award categories are courage, perseverance, imagination, faith, pioneer,inspiration, creativity, heroine, innovation, integrity, posthumous and women 30 or younger.
