    Cleveland Cavs forward Emoni Bates undergoes arthroscopic knee surgery

    CLEVELAND — Cavaliers wing Emoni Bates underwent arthroscopic surgery Monday to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee, the team announced.

    The surgery was performed by Cavs team physician Dr. James Rosneck at Cleveland Clinic Sports Medicine Center. The injury had been nagging Bates .

    The Cavs stated Bates will be reevaluated in approximately one month.

    A 2023 second-round draft pick (49th overall), Bates appeared in 15 games last season with the Cavs and averaged 2.7 points, 0.9 rebounds and 0.7 assists. In 27 games with the Cleveland Charge of the NBA G League, Bates averaged 21.6 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists.
