How to watch 4-star running back Shahn Alston, Painesville Harvey on NFHS Network

Painesville Harvey and four-star running back recruit Shahn Alston face a tough test at home in Week 8 of OHSAA football action.

Alston is ranked No. 129 nationally in the 2026 recruiting class regardless of position, according to 247sports . He's the No. 12 ranked running back in his class (tops in Ohio) and is ranked No. 5 overall among players in Ohio.

Alston took an unofficial visit to Michigan State in September for their matchup against Ohio State. The Spartans reportedly extended an offer to the four-star running back on that visit.

Alston also has offers from Akron, Auburn, Baylor, Boston College, Cincinnati, Connecticut, Florida, Indiana, Louisville, Missouri, Penn State, Pitt, Purdue, Rutgers, Syracuse, Wisconsin and USC, among other programs.

As a sophomore in 2023, Alston ran for 1,042 yards and 15 touchdowns on a sterling 8.1 yards per carry. He added four receptions for an additional 82 yards and one score. While primarily a running back, Alston also notched 33 tackles and one kick return TD last year.

Harvey (4-3) will face off against Lake County Perry (5-1) on Friday. Perry is in Division IV this season, but won state last season in Division V. The Pirates’ only loss came in Week 3 this season to Division VI reigning state champion Kirtland. That game was a 22-21 triple-overtime thriller.
