Week 8 of the Akron-area high school football season got off to an early start with three games Thursday night, including Highland 's 41-0 win over Revere to remain undefeated.

All five of the Akron-area's other 7-0 teams will be back in action Friday night, including Walsh Jesuit — fresh off a huge 19-14 win over Archbishop Hoban and ranked No. 1 in the USA Today Network Ohio Super 25 Poll — playing at 5-2 Chardon Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin.

Manchester (7-0, 4-0) will also host Triway (6-1, 3-0) in a Principals Athletic Conference showdown, and with a win the Panthers would clinch the PAC title for the first time since 2017.

    Other unbeatens playing Friday are Wadsworth (7-0, 4-0) at Stow (2-5, 1-3); Aurora (7-0, 4-0) at Kent Roosevelt (2-5, 1-3); and Streetsboro (7-0, 4-0) hosting Ravenna (3-4, 2-2).

We'll have full coverage throughout the night. Return here for score updates, as well as box scores from area games at the end of the night.
