Stop if you've heard this one before: The Browns lost on Sunday and the offense struggled.

This time, in Week 6, it was a 20-16 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles . Cleveland mustered just 244 yards on offense as the team struggled to protect Deshaun Watson, who was better but largely ineffective in Philadelphia.

The loss dropped the Browns to 1-5 for the season. Worse, the Browns are reaching new lows for offensive football.

With that, here is a look at Sunday's winners and losers from the game:

Winner: The NFC East against the Browns this season

The Browns have now played all four NFC East teams this season, going 0-4. In those games, the Browns have been outscored 108-61.

    Winner: Browns special teams

At the end of the second quarter, Myles Garrett jumped over multiple blockers to get a hand on a field goal attempt. Safety Rodney McLeod — a former Eagle — scooped up the ball and ran it back 50 yards for a touchdown. Kicker Dustin Hopkins wasn’t perfect, but he converted three of four field goal attempts and his one extra point attempt. Corey Bojorquez continued his strong season, averaging 55.8 yards per punt.

As the offense struggles, the Browns need as much help as they can get elsewhere. That help was there on Sunday.

Winner: The Browns defense on opening drives

By forcing the Eagles to go three-and-out on their first drive, the Browns extended their streak of not allowing an opening drive touchdown to all six games this season. Small victories are still victories for a team that will take any it can get. Of course, it helps the Eagles have yet to score a point in the first quarter all season.

Winner: Browns running back Pierre Strong Jr.

It's not saying much given the rest of the group, but Pierre Strong was Cleveland's most explosive player on offense on Sunday with eight carries for 43 yards and two catches for 35 more yards.

Loser: Consistency on the Browns offensive line

The Browns don't have a lack talent on the offensive line. What they lack is consistency due to injuries. When Michael Dunn shifted from guard to center after Nick Harris was lost to an ankle injury in the first quarter he became Cleveland's fourth center in six games this season.

    Loser: Football

Do the Eagles play football or rugby? Of course it's on the defense to stop Philadelphia's famous "tush push" play on fourth-and-1. But the NFL needs to revisit this type of play again. Is it really football when a play's success is predicated on getting pushed forward by multiple teammates?

Loser: Discipline for the Browns when it comes to penalties

The penalty issue is back for the Browns. It came at the worst time on Sunday, too.

Late in the fourth quarter, the Browns had the ball at the Philadelphia 3-yard line. Two consecutive penalties on third down turned a possible touchdown drive into a field goal drive when a TD would have tied the score for the Browns.

The Browns came into the game averaging 8.6 penalties in five games this season, the third-worst number in the NFL. They had seven Sunday, but the two late ones were costly.
