Students returned to Litchfield and Firestone CLCs Wednesday after the two schools were closed Tuesday due to a suspected natural gas leak, according to Akron Public Schools Chief of Staff Angela Carter.

"Akron Fire came out and ran some tests and there was nothing found, and we actually had our plumbers come out and do more testing so everything is all clear and our students were able to report back to school today," Carter said.

The school district originally reported classes were canceled Tuesday after officials were investigating an odor that was detected at both schools.
