Summit County Athletes of Week Oct. 7-13 | Makayla Martuccio, Ben LeBay win vote

Athletes from Tallmadge and Woodridge high schools won the voting for the Summit County High School Athlete of the Week for Oct. 7-13.

Makayla Martuccio is the girls winner and Ben LeBay wins for the boys. Martuccio runs cross country for the Blue Devils and LeBay runs cross country for the Bulldogs. Martuccio received 52.16% of the votes cast. LeBay received 37.85% of the votes cast.

A total of 4,285 votes were cast overall.

Makayla Martuccio, Tallmadge cross country

Won the Suburban League American Conference individual championship in a time of 19:23.2 at Silver Creek Metro Park. Tallmadge also won the SLAC team title.

Ben LeBay, Woodridge cross country

Won the Metro Athletic Conference individual boys championship in a time of 16:10 at Silver Creek Metro Park. His efforts helped Woodridge win its 20th consecutive conference title.
