    Giancarlo Stanton homer extends Yankees lead over Guardians in ALCS Game 4

    CLEVELAND — Guardians rookie relief pitcher Cade Smith is human.

    Slugger Giancarlo Stanton hit a three-run home run to the bleachers in left-center field off Smith to extend the New York Yankees ' lead to 6-2 in the sixth inning of Game 4 of the ALCS .

    Stanton's blast came came on a 1-2 pitch that was a 94.2 mph four-seam fastball. The ball went 404 feet and had an exit velocity of 105.7 mph.

    Smith entered the sixth inning having allowed one earned run in nine innings this postseason.

    Juan Soto led off the inning with a walk, Aaron Judge followed with a single to left and Jazz Chisholm Jr. laid down a sacrifice bunt ahead of Stanton's fourth homer this postseason and 15th for his career.
