The number of victims shot during the June 2 shooting in East Akron on Kelly and 8th avenues has been updated to 29, according to Akron police.

This number includes LaTeris Cook , the 27-year-old man who was killed during the birthday celebration.

There have been no arrests made nor charges filed, Akron Police Lt. Brent Bauknecht said, adding that there are no other updates on the investigation.

"Detectives are working around the clock to determine who is responsible for the shooting. They are doing everything they can," Bauknecht said.

The number of reported victims has fluctuated in the month since the shooting. Police confirmed Friday morning that the victim count had increased to 30 after the previously reported number of 28. That afternoon, police amended the total victim count to 29.

Bauknecht said Friday afternoon that the number is fluid as police continue following leads, including identifying people who were shot during the incident but did not go to a hospital.

Akron police released the identification of a suspect vehicle , a white SUV with dark tinted windows, on June 18. The vehicle reportedly fled south on Kelly Avenue after the shooting.

The shooting happened just after midnight near Joy Park Homes, hours after police arrived at the celebration to disperse the crowd from the street. Police retrieved 45 shell casings from the scene, as well as three handguns.

The U.S. Marshals Office, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and Summit County Crimestoppers have offered a reward of up to $22,500 for information that results in the identification and arrest of a suspect.

Bauknecht asked anyone with any information to call the Akron Police Department Detective Bureau at 330-375-2490, Summit County Crimestoppers at 330-434-COPS or text TIPSCO with tips to 274637.
