You can now feed a lion at the Akron Zoo

AKRON, Ohio (WJW) – Have you ever wanted to feed a lion? Now you can!

The Akron Zoo has announced a new ‘ Get Closer Tour ‘ that allows visitors an “unforgettable experience” going behind-the-scenes to see the African Lion pride’s state of the art facility, a night yard tour, and even the opportunity to feed the ‘king of the beasts’ a special treat.

“Witness their awe-inspiring power firsthand while gaining insight into the incredible bonds our keepers have forged with them. Prepare to be captivated by memorable stories of our lions that will stay with you long after your visit,” reads the zoo’s website .

The Get Closer Tour is offered Fridays at 1:30 p.m. Two visitors can take part at a time. The cost is $150 per person. Guests must be 5 or older.

The Akron Zoo also offers Get Closer Tours with their Grizzly Bears, Galapagos Tortoise, Red Panda, Animal Ambassadors, and Goats.
