Rain in the forecast for Greater Akron through Thursday, but the weekend is looking clear

Summit County residents eager for clear, blue skies will have to wait another day or so, as showers are in the forecast until Thursday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

Sunny skies and daily temperatures in the low to mid 80s are projected for this weekend heading into early next week. Rain isn't forecasted again until early Tuesday.

Here's a midweek look at the upcoming weather in Greater Akron.

Wednesday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 83. Light west wind becoming northwest 5 to 10 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Wednesday night: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 11 p.m., then a slight chance of showers between 11 p.m. and midnight. Partly cloudy, with a low around 62. North wind 5 to 9 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Thursday: A slight chance of showers after 10 a.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 76. North wind 6 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Thursday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 53. North wind 5 to 9 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 81. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Friday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 53.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 85.

Saturday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 59.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 86.

Sunday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 63.

Monday: Partly sunny, with a high near 88.
