Merriman Road to close for few hours at Weathervane Lane intersection for signal pole work

A section of Merriman Road will be closed Thursday beginning at 9 a.m. as crews work to replace an existing signal pole, according to a news release from the Akron Engineering Bureau.

Beginning at the intersection of Merriman Road and Weathervane Lane, the south half of Merriman Road will be closed. Traffic will continue to be maintained in all directions, according to the release, but on Merriman Road, eastbound and westbound traffic will be merged into single lanes to shift cars around the work zone.

Drivers should proceed with caution through the area or use an alternate route.

Work is expected to be completed by noon today.
