Northeast Ohio residents have access to some of the best medical care in the country, according to recently released hospital rankings from U.S. News & World Report for 2024-2025.

U.S. News has created a report of the best hospitals nationwide for more than 30 years in an effort to help patients find the best local care and consult with the best doctors. A variety of rankings are a part of the report, including best hospitals for complex care, best hospitals for frequently treated procedures and conditions, best regional hospitals and best hospitals for maternity care.

“Choosing the right hospital to match your needs shouldn’t be a guessing game,” Ben Harder, chief of health analysis and managing editor at U.S. News, said in a prepared statement. “The 2024-2025 edition of Best Hospitals provides patients and their families clear, data-driven insights on hospital performance and empowers Americans to choose the facility best suited to their specific health care needs.”

Eligible hospitals are evaluated based on three areas, including how well patients survived/recovered, how well the hospital follows the best standards and the availability of advanced resources and technology.

Cleveland Clinic made the U.S. News and Report Best Hospitals Honor Roll, which lists the Top 20 hospitals overall in the country out of 5,000 medical centers. Hospitals were named in U.S. News' Honor Roll if they ranked highly in one of the 15 specialties that U.S. News evaluates, as well as being rated as high performing in one of the 20 conditions and procedures.

Cleveland Clinic earned 13 national rankings for specialty care — including retaining its reign as best in the nation for heart care — and is rated high performing in 19 of the 20 conditions that U.S. News evaluates.
