Crash cleared after massive delays in Akron

(WJW) – A crash along Akron’s Central Interchange caused a massive traffic backup on Friday morning. The roadway was later cleared.

FOX 8’s Patty Harken reported the crash was near I-77 Northbound at State Route 8.

According to the Ohio Department of Transportation , shortly before 8 a.m., motorists on I-77 Northbound were experiencing a 47-minute delay between mile markers 123 and 125.

It wasn’t immediately clear what caused the accident or if anyone was injured.

As of 9:30 a.m., the crash was cleared and driving speeds were back to normal.
