Greater Akron remains under a "moderate" drought and there's little relief in sight this weekend.

The latest map from the U.S. Drought Monitor has all of Summit County and Medina, Wayne, Portage and Stark counties are under drought conditions.

Summit County is considered to be in a moderate drought.

Under moderate drought conditions, the effects can range from impacts on landscaping companies, fewer mosquitoes and an impact on farm crops, including corn.

Some 70% of Ohio is now considered to be under some drought conditions with extreme southeast Ohio under a severe drought.

When will it rain in Akron?

The National Weather Service says northern Ohio is under a bit of a dry spell with the next good chance of rain not coming until Monday.

And not only will it be parched, it is going to be hot too.

High temperatures will be in the upper 80s on Saturday and top out at 90-plus degrees on Sunday before the rain keeps it in the upper 80s to start the work week.

There will be a chance of showers and storms daily with the high eventually back to near 90 by Thursday.
