    Goodyear names new chief digital and marketing officers Tuesday

    The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has named a new chief digital officer as well as a new chief marketing officer, the company announced Tuesday in a news release.

    Mamatha Chamarthi will become a senior vice president and chief digital officer, while Will Roland will become a senior vice president and chief marketing officer. They will begin their new roles Thursday.

    Both come to the tiremaker from Stellantis, the Big Three automaker formerly known as Chrysler. Goodyear Chief Executive Officer and President Mark Stewart, who was named to lead the company in January, also came to Akron from Stellantis, where he was chief operating officer for the company's North America division.

    "It's imperative that we understand our customers on a deeper level and both Will and Mamatha allow us to leverage data and customer insights to transform how we meet customer needs," Stewart said in the release. "I am confident both will help us make agile and data-informed decisions and I am excited to have them join Team Goodyear."

    Chamarthi previously worked as the chief software business growth officer and chief information and digital officer for Stellantis. Earlier in her career, she held leadership positions at ZF Friedrichshafen AG, Consumers Energy and Daimler Group.

    In her new role at Goodyear, she will oversee all aspects of the company's digital businesses, in addition to traditional CIO responsibilities, and establish a new digital strategy.

    Roland previously worked as the senior vice president for media, consumers, analytics and digital for Stellantis North America. He also worked as the president of Solutions for Publicis Media, overseeing data and platform management, advanced analytics and applied marketing strategies.Roland will head Goodyear's brand and marketing strategies by using advanced analytics and market insights to help drive innovation as well as identifying opportunities for growth.
