    Countdown to voting: Here are key dates to know before the Nov. 5 presidential election

    Those who want to vote in the November presidential election only have about two months left to register .

    The registration deadline is the day before early and absentee voting begin in Ohio.

    Here are several key dates for voters to keep in mind for the upcoming election:

    Oct. 7: Last day to register to vote.

    Oct. 8: Early voting (in person at election boards) begins. Absentee voting by mail also starts.

    Oct. 29: Absentee ballot applications must be received by election boards.

    Nov. 3: Last day to vote early (in person).

    Nov. 4: Mailed absentee ballots must be postmarked by this date.

    Nov. 5: Election Day. Polls will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Hand-delivered absentee ballots must be returned to election boards before the polls close.
