A teenage suspect has been arrested in connection to a shooting in East Akron on Friday evening, according to Akron police.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting at a residence on the 500 block of Ardella Avenue at about 8:37 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered two victims, a 16-year-old girl and a 25-year-old man, had already transported themselves to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

During the investigation, officers discovered that a prior argument at the residence between adults led to the shooting. Police said the suspect, a 14-year-old boy, fired multiple shots at a parked vehicle that the two victims were sitting in at the time of the argument. Detectives recovered shell casings and other evidence from the scene.

The suspect was apprehended and charged with two counts of felonious assault, police said. He was transported to the County Juvenile Detention Facility.

An adult male, 35, was also arrested in connection to the incident and was charged with violating a protection order, police reported.
