Alabama pedestrian killed in hit-and-run accident, here’s what we know

An Alabama pedestrian was struck and killed by a hit-and-run motorist Thursday, officials said.

Jefferson County Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates said the victim was identified as Dwight Lemar McCall, 62, of Birmingham.

McCall was a pedestrian in the 8300 block of 1st Avenue North in Birmingham when an unidentified motorist struck and killed him.

Birmingham police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
