Cherokee County, AL – In a significant development for Alabama’s educational community, Bobby Tittle, currently a candidate for the Calhoun Board of Education, has been elected as the state president of the Alabama Association of Secondary School Principals (AASSP). This announcement follows a distinguished career spanning over 25 years in education, with Tittle currently serving as principal at Cherokee County High School and having previously held a nine-year tenure as principal in Calhoun County.

The AASSP, a prominent organization representing high school and middle school administrators statewide, plays a crucial role in shaping educational policies and professional standards. Tittle officially assumed the presidency on July 1st, succeeding Seth Taylor, the former president who recently was announced as the new principal at Oxford High School.

“I am deeply honored to assume the role of president at AASSP,” said Tittle in an exclusive interview with the Calhoun Journal. “This opportunity allows me to leverage my experience to advocate for educators and students across Alabama.”

In his new capacity, Tittle will lead efforts to enhance educational leadership and advocacy, representing Alabama principals at state and national levels. His responsibilities include engaging with policymakers to promote educational funding and initiatives beneficial to schools statewide.

“I bring a perspective that bridges insights from the state level to benefit our local communities, including Calhoun County,” Tittle emphasized. “As someone deeply rooted in this region, I understand the challenges and opportunities facing our schools.”

Tittle’s leadership extends beyond the AASSP presidency, as he continues his campaign for a seat on the Calhoun Board of Education. The upcoming election in November presents an opportunity for Tittle to integrate his statewide experience into local governance, ensuring that policies align with the needs of Calhoun County’s educational institutions.

“With my background in educational administration and advocacy, I believe I can contribute significantly to the Board,” Tittle remarked. “My goal is to foster an environment where every student has access to quality education and opportunities for growth.”

Throughout his career, Tittle stated he has strived to demonstrate a commitment to educational excellence. This includes holding degrees in music education, educational administration, and educational specialist degrees. He also explained that his passion for fostering a supportive learning environment underscores his dedication to advancing educational standards across Alabama.

“I look forward to collaborating with educators, stakeholders, and policymakers to build upon the foundation of success in Alabama’s schools,” Tittle concluded. “Together, we can ensure that every student receives a quality education that prepares them for the future.”

As Tittle assumes his new role effective July 1st, his vision for educational leadership promises to leave a lasting impact on Alabama’s educational landscape, advocating for policies that empower both educators and students.
