Gerald Magalski, 86, of Oscoda
Gerald John Magalski, age 86, of Oscoda, MI, formerly of Joplin, MO passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at Lakeview Manor Nursing Home in Tawas City, MI. He was born on December 8, 1937 in Detroit, MI. After graduation, Gerald joined the United States Army serving in the 1st Airborne Battle Group 327th Infantry Division of Company B. He worked for 39 years as a load cell laboratory technician for Cardinal Scale Manufacturing Company in Missouri, retiring in 2019.

Jury finds Giffin guilty of 1st-degree home invasion
TAWAS CITY – Timothy Daniel Giffin, 41, Oscoda, has been convicted of 1st-degree home invasion as a fourth habitual felon, which carries a term of life in prison. Iosco County Prosecutor James Bacarella issued a press release advising that a jury returned with a verdict of guilty on July 15, during a trial which occurred in the county’s 23rd Circuit Court in Tawas City, before the Honorable David C. Riffel.
