As the committee is wrapping up all the loose ends from another fun & festive 4th of July celebration, we would like to give a shout-out and show our gratitude to all the people who were involved in making this parade happen.

First off, we would like to thank our 4th of July Parade Sponsors.

Red Level Sponsorship : Alameda Municipal Power (AMP), United States Coast Guard and City of Alameda .

White Level Sponsorship : Alameda County Industries (ACI), Bay Ship & Yacht,  Alameda Alliance for Health, Alameda Tiny Homes, and West Alameda Business Association (WABA).

Blue Level Sponsorship : Alameda Friends of the Parks Foundation, Big Brothers Plumbing Inc., Kiwanis Club of Alameda , Jim’s Coffee Shop, and The Epoch Times.

Without your generous contributions, it would make it very difficult to put on such an event for our community.

Thank you to our Mayor Marilyn Ezzy Ashcraft and our elected officials for all that you do, and for participating in the Parade. Congresswomen Barbara Lee , who served as the Parade’s Honorary Grand Marshal, for her last time riding in Alameda’s 4th of July Parade. To our Parade Grand Marshal, Vietnam War Veteran Joe LoParo , a big thank you for your serving our country. To all the Parade Committee Members, an event this big doesn’t just come together logistically, not without a lot of planning, organizing and an eye for detail. Job well done!

Next, we would like to acknowledge and thank our July 4th Parade Judges:  Dr. Cindy Acker, Ed.D., Scott Cuellar*, Janet Davis, Michelle Ednacot*, Allie Lemmons, Christopher Peterson*, Liz Rush, Mariel Thomas*, Rosemary Van Lare and Pam Williams*

*Current or Former ARPD Recreation Leader or Staff

To all ARPD Staff that worked the Holiday, thank you for your help in being able to provide our community with an event that draws such a large crowd of people to our island city to celebrate together. And to our volunteers, a big thank you for lending a helping hand of support which contributed to the Parade’s success.

KTVU Channel 2 and Zip Trips, we are much appreciated for the coverage, publicity and Live Streaming the Parade and the reporting our beloved community.

Finally, a Patriotic Salute to all July 4th Parade Participants . Without you, we would have no Parade to enjoy. Big shout out and appreciation to you for your creativity, spirit, and love towards making Alameda’s 4th of July Parade the best and celebration success. We had huge crowds that were still celebrating even after the Parade had passed. Again, thank you to everyone that played a part in Alameda’s 4th of July Parade, the longest in the nation with a route that spans 3.3 miles, attracting more than 150 entries and 2,500 participants. The Parade draws over 60,000 spectators from the region and entries include a full spectrum of Bay Area residents, including equestrians, dance troops, floats, antique cars, community groups, transported and marching bands from both the community and local schools, and more!

We look forward to seeing you next year.

    Thank You!
