Jump for Joy at the World’s Largest Bounce House

The Big Bounce America , home of the world’s largest bounce house, is in Alameda for one more weekend as part of its 2024 North American tour. Produced by XL Event Lab, The Big Bounce America is the biggest touring inflatable event in the world and features eight different inflatable attractions.

The largest of the inflatables include the 24,000-square-foot World’s Largest Bounce House, the deep sea foam party OctoBlast, the Giant obstacle course (more than 900 feet long), the customized sports arena Sport Slam, and the three-piece, space-themed airSPACE.

The World’s Largest Bounce House stands 32 feet tall at its highest point. Inside are giant slides, ball pits, climbing towers, basketball hoops, and bright, oversized characters. At the center of the bounce house is a stage with a DJ playing music and hosting games. Sessions are organized by age, ranging from tiny tots to adults only.

The OctoBlast is part bouncer, part foam party. Upon entering, guests will find larger-than-life ocean creatures, foam cannons, and live DJs spinning from a pufferfish stage. The Giant obstacle course features 50 different obstacles to overcome as guests make their way from the starting line to the grand finale monster slide.

The Sport Slam bounce house includes a customized sports arena filled with goals, nets, hoops, and balls. Guests can compete against each other by racing up the climbing tower or by challenging one another in the “battle zone” to see who can stay on their podium the longest.

The airSPACE bounce house is a space-themed arena filled with aliens, spaceships, and moon craters spread across three different inflatables. There is a five-lane slide, a 25-foot-tall inflatable alien at the center of three bottomless ball pits, and a giant spaceman jumping around the moon base.

“We need more fun in the world, and what better way to bring that into 2024 than with a 24,000-square-foot bounce house?” Big Bounce America Tour Manager Noa Visnich said in a press release. “The Big Bounce America is the perfect event for kids and adults alike to get out of the house and enjoy an outdoor event like they’ve never experienced. Complementing the newly expanded biggest bounce house in the world, OctoBlast, Sport Slam, The Giant, and airSPACE make this a not to miss experience. So, we invite all kids, and kids at heart, to kick those sneakers off and party on!”

Big Bounce America has been making its way across the country on its North American tour. Caden Davis, a photographer in Cincinnati, Ohio, attended Big Bounce when it stopped by his city in June.

“My time at Big Bounce America was great,” he told the Alameda Post . “All the different things they had to offer really brought the experience together greatly. We were there for a few hours and were never running out of things to do. And leaving that place, I don’t think I’ve ever sweat so much.”

His one complaint is the price, which he felt was “a bit steep.” But he added, “If you take your time and enjoy every second of it, I think it’s worth it for a one-time thing.”

Alameda resident Lauren Daley and her family attended Big Bounce America last summer when the event was in the parking lot of Golden Gate Fields racetrack. She offered a tip to families who visit: “Since shoes must be left at the entrance of each jumpy area, adults and caregivers of children should plan ahead for hot concrete by bringing a good pair of socks, and shoes that are easily able to be slipped off,” she suggested.

Another local, Pricilla Henneman, also checked out Big Bounce America last July in Berkeley. She says her group’s favorite area was the obstacle course.

“It was amazing!” she told the Post . “The bounce houses were spread out and had mats for shoes and outside seating areas for caregivers and kids to take breaks. There were restrooms and food. There was also a giant bounce house that had dedicated time slots for different age groups which made it feel safer and more age appropriate. It was great for kids and adults alike. It was hot in the summer in a parking lot, but they did a great job providing shade and water stations and food. Overall a terrific experience!”

Big Bounce America will be at Alameda Point August 9-11. Toddler sessions (3 and under plus parents/guardians) start at $22, junior sessions (7 and under plus parents/guardians) start at $36, bigger kids sessions (15 and younger plus parents/guardians) start at $36, and adult only sessions (16 and older) start at $45.
