Escaping the stresses of an election year, Herb departs the flatlands of Alameda.
Taking his Ridgeway grandfather clock with him, he goes up to the mountains.
After a week in the mountains, Herb realizes his Ridgeway is 4 minutes too slow.
Back at sea level in Alameda, his pendulum clock kept perfect time.
Elevating his clock from sea level to his mountaintop citadel resulted in it slowing.
Measured at sea level, the radius of the earth in Alameda is 6563 kilometers.
How many meters above sea level is Herb’s armor-clad citadel?

First correct answer arriving at JeffreyRSmith@aol.com wins a frosty dessert-for-two at Tucker’s Ice Cream of Alameda, California.

The correct answer to last week’s puzzle was A = 0.92724 units squared. Last week’s winner was Paul Maxwell.
