My recent adventure to Timberline Atop Mount Roberts was one for the books, despite the rain preventing me from visiting the restaurant itself. The tram ride up was an absolute delight, offering a smooth ascent to an exhilarating 1,800 feet above the shore. The panoramic views of the city from this vantage point were nothing short of spectacular, making it a must-visit spot for anyone seeking that perfect bird's-eye view.
Once at the top, the lodge serves as a cozy haven where you can grab a drink and soak in the scenery. The atmosphere is welcoming, and it's a great place to relax after exploring the nature trails. Speaking of which, the trails are an outdoor enthusiast's dream, winding through a wet and cold mountain environment that demands respect for nature. Remember to dress appropriately and leave no trace behind to preserve the beauty of this place.
The gift shop at the top offers a variety of souvenirs, and while I browsed, I found the tram operator to be exceptionally friendly, adding a touch of humor to the experience. Whether shrouded in clouds or basking in clear skies, the mountain's summit is a sight to behold. It's an experience that's hard to put into words, but easy to recommend. Just be prepared for a bit of a tourist hotspot vibe, and you'll have a fantastic time!
