It’s a family affair. There’s nothing like the age-old lynx and rabbit relationship. In places like Canada and Alaska, you can bet that where there’s hare and rabbit, you will find lynx as well. Lynx are wild cats that primarily live in more northern parts of North America. These cats are absolute killers just like all of their relatives. They can reach weights of 40 pounds and are trained assassins. Lynx have loaded back legs with massive muscles that help propel them at their prey, or up into trees. Their feet also have large pads which essentially act like snow shoes to help them navigate deep snow and difficult terrains. These cats will eat anything they can but have been found to have a very close relationship with that of the snowshoe hare. It is a cycle where, as the population rises, it is followed by the lynx population rising too, then as they eat the rabbits up, there are less lynx around. It was a groundbreaking discovering in wildlife management showing how one species health can have far larger consequences on an ecosystem. Well, this family of lynx in Alaska were out to show how true that relationship was as a whole group is seen chasing one of these guys down. The hare runs for its life, dashing and diving, as 5 lynxes wait for their chance to take him out. Everywhere you look, a new one pops up. That rabbit just never had a chance on that day... what a wild thing to witness though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ZD5hRef60k
