Local response to global software outage

ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — Airlines and other services are dealing with major disruptions due to a major Microsoft and Crowdstrike outage . Around 7 a.m., Microsoft 365 said they released adjusted the update that had caused the disruptions. Local services have also been dealing with the global outages.

Washington County

The opening of Washington County Offices and Departments will be delayed until noon on Friday due to the globally reported IT systems update overnight, according to the Washington County Department of Public Safety. Authorities say that Washington County’s critical operations systems are operational at this time.

Washington County’s information technology and critical systems response personnel have been working throughout the night, continuing to support the technological needs of all county operations.

Authorities say Friday’s regularly scheduled Board of Supervisors meeting at 10:00 a.m. will be held at that time. Employees will still report as scheduled.

Albany International Airport

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Albany International Airport says they too are dealing with ongoing outages that have impacted airlines and other organizations worldwide . Passengers flying in or out of the airport may experience delays due to the airline computer issue.
