ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The 2024 Republican National Convention ended with Former President Donald Trump accepting the nomination to run for president. This is the third time he has been chosen to represent the Republican Party in a presidential race.

This week on Empire State Weekly, Henry Rosoff a reporter with WPIX11 in New York City, offered insight into the Republican National Convention. Rosoff explained that New York City often is a “target” at rallies like the R.N.C. City leadership has tried recently to highlight progress on issues like crime to push back on any narratives from the conference.

Also this week, Mark Wysocki a recently retired State Climatologist spoke on the recent unusual increase in tornado activity in the state. This week the National Weather Service investigated several severe storms across the state and confirmed that at least five tornadoes touched down.

“What New Yorkers have to understand is that we are seeing a change in some of our weather patterns over the last eight years to where we are seeing a frequency of these types of events that are able to spawn tornadoes on the weak side. And people should start taking a more serious approach and have a plan, a game plan, and review the rules of where you should go in your home for safety,” said Wysocki.

To see these interviews and more, here is a list of how you can watch Empire State Weekly in your area of New York:
