    Police investigate Albany shooting on Madison Ave

    ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 )– Albany Police Department is investigating a shooting that left a man with a non-life-threatening injury on Saturday. Police said the shooting took place on Madison Avenue near Trinity Place around 4:45 p.m., and a 27-year-old man was self-transported to Albany Medical Center with a gunshot wound to his buttocks.

    Police said their preliminary investigation suspects the shooting stemmed from an isolated incident between the victim and a group of people. Police added that they got a search warrant and discovered marijuana, pills, and other evidence in a home the group of people entered on the 100 Block of Madison Avenue after the shooting.

    The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is encouraged to call the Albany Police Department at (518) 462-8039. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to the Capital Region Crime Stoppers website.
