    Albany Police make arrest in narcotics investigation

    ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — The Albany Police Department announced the arrest of an Albany man in connection with a drug investigation. Venzel Thomas, 38, faces multiple charges.

    Charges

    • Third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance
    • Seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance

    Police say they stopped Thomas near South Pearl Street and Bassett Street on Monday around 12:20 p.m. about an ongoing investigation. Thomas was allegedly in possession of fentanyl when police conducted their investigation.

    Vermonter accused of burglary, domestic assault

    According to law enforcement, a search warrant was also executed at a home on Clinton Street regarding the investigation. Police say they found additional amounts of narcotics at the home.

    Thomas was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court on Tuesday and placed in Albany County Jail.
