The first day of filing for municipal office saw many familiar names.
Martha Sue Hall filed for reelection as an Albemarle council member at-large.
In Badin, incumbent council member at-large W. Demar Hutley filed, as did newcomer Gary Rife.
In New London, it was Bill Peak seeking another term on the council as a commissioner at-large.
Norwood Mayor Linda Campbell has filed for another term, as did Oakboro Mayor Chris N. Huneycutt. Also filing for another term as an Oakboro commissioner at-large was Lanny Hathcock.
Filing continues until noon July 19 at the Stanly County Board of Elections.
Filing is also available by mail. Check votestanlycountync.gov for filing information.
