Four people were injured in three separate crashes throughout Albert Lea from Saturday through Monday morning.

In the first crash, an 85-year-old woman was taken to the hospital for suspected minor injuries at 9:55 a.m. Saturday after a crash at the intersection of Clark Street and St. Mary Avenue.

Police stated JoAnn Becker, 71, of Albert Lea was driving a 2015 GMC Terrain eastbound on Clark Street entering the intersection of Clark and St. Mary Avenue when a 2004 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by Geraldine Horswell, 95, of Albert Lea, reportedly failed to yield for a stop sign and struck Becker’s vehicle.

Becker and Horswell were not injured, but Becker’s passenger, Darlene Johnson, 85, was taken to the hospital for a suspected minor injury.

2 injured in crash near truck stops

Two people were taken to the hospital Sunday night after a crash on East Main Street near Albert Lea’s truck stops.

According to police, Bailey Harding, 18, of Marion, Iowa, was driving a 2016 Kia Soul eastbound on Main Street at about 9:15 p.m. Sunday when she made a left turn in front of Nickolas Biwer, 26, of Austin, who was driving a 2014 Nissan Rogue westbound on Main Street.

The crash occurred near the intersection of 777th Avenue and East Main Street.

Both Harding and Biwer were taken to the hospital with possible injuries.

    Bicyclist injured in crash

A bicyclist was taken to the hospital for non life-threatening injuries Monday morning after a crash near the intersection of Bridge Avenue and Minnie Maddern Street.

Julio Silva, 32, of Albert Lea, was reportedly riding an E-bike southbound on Bridge Avenue on the sidewalk when the bike collided with a 2021 Chevy Blazer, driven by Ana Anthony, 41, of Albert Lea at Minnie Maddern St.

Anthony was reportedly stopped at the stop sign on Minnie Maddern, and the car and bike collided where the sidewalk meets the road.
