Albertville man charged following fatal Etowah County shooting

ETOWAH COUNTY, Ala. ( WIAT ) — A man from Albertville has been charged with murder following an early morning shooting in Altoona Thursday.

According to the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office, deputies discovered 35-year-old Tyler Golden shot to death at his home on the 2000 block of Self Street around 1:00 a.m.

Jason Paul Souza, 38, was taken into custody at the scene. He is being held in the Etowah County Detention Center with no bond pending an Aniah’s Law hearing.

A woman, who has not been identified, was also detained on scene and taken to the sheriff’s office for questioning.

Deputies continue to investigate the circumstances of the shooting. No further information is available at this time.
