    Osanai stars as Falcons fly at state meet

    The Armstrong Falcons took part in the Class AAA state championships last week at St. Michael-Albertville, sending several athletes to battle it out with the best in Minnesota.

    Caitlyn Osanai earned fourth in an impressive field for the girls 3200 meters with a time of 10:46.61, concluding a blockbuster varsity career with the Falcons. Osanai set a personal record the week prior with her second place, 10:40.50 finish at the section championships. Osanai also took eighth in the 1600 meters with a time of 4:58.56.

    Junior Ava Mack earned 13th in girls shot put with a mark of 36-10.75. Mack qualified for state the week prior with an impressive second place finish at sections and a mark of 35-11.

    Armstrong senior LaVie Freeman earned 13th in the 110 meter hurdles prelims at the state meet with a time of 15.25. Freeman took second in the section meet the week prior and hit a personal record of 15.25 during the prelims there.

    Falcons junior Luke Pappas earned 12th place in boys shot put, hitting a mark of 48’4. Pappas earned second at the section championships the week prior with a personal record of 52’10.

    The boys relay team of Reid Stanslaski, Eli Kuempel, Lucas Ringel, and Emmett Fallah earned ninth in the 4x200 prelims with a time of 1:29.28 and eighth in the finals with a time of 1:28.43.
