Albertville Anglers eliminated from postseason

The Albertville Anglers were eliminated from Sauk Valley League playoff contention on July 17. Albertville played Sauk Rapids at Lion’s Park in Albertville in the play-in game.

It was either team’s ballgame going into the ninth inning but the Cyclones pulled away late to win and end the Anglers’ season. It was a 3-0 game after seven innings. Luke Welle started the game on the mound for Albertville and played well but the bats were silenced.

Sauk Rapids’ starting pitcher Noah Jensen struck out 11 in six no-hit innings. Albertville ended the game with one hit and one error.

Albertville finished the season with two wins.
