New law bans ‘captive hunting’ in Rhode Island

Rhode Island Health Department recommends closure of two beaches for swimming
The Rhode Island Department of Health is recommending the closure of two beaches. Officials said both Briar Point Beach in Coventry and Hope Community Service Pond in Scituate have high bacteria counts. RIDOH will continue to monitor and review beach water quality through Labor Day.
Low speed vehicles are coming to Rhode Island streets
At C2 Vehicles in Wareham, MA, Peter O'Connell sells low speed vehicles or LSVs. Starting July 1, they'll be legal to drive on certain streets in Rhode Island. "I live in Portsmouth, and it would be great for the beach communities, all the shoreline access," O'Connell said.
