Meow Wolf co-founder Matt King 'unexpectedly' passes away
Matt King, Meow Wolf’s creative director and a co-founder of the immersive art company, has passed away. The Santa Fe-based company announced on July 11 that King unexpectedly died on July 9. The news release called King a “pioneer” of immersive art and said he was at the very first Meow Wolf meeting in 2008. In conjunction with Quinn Tincher, the duo created Meow Wolf’s first immersive art show.
New Mexico Tech debuts new event space
After nearly six years of planning, New Mexico Tech just debuted a new 5,200-square-foot facility. The Deju University House, named after alumnus Dr. Raul Deju and his wife Sherry Deju, will be used for events, meetings and training sessions. It has the capacity to host up to 210 people. The Dejus provided funding for the project.
