ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Tod Brown era of Lobo baseball has been extended through 2029. The University of New Mexico announced an extension for its head baseball coach on Wednesday.

Under Brown’s leadership, the Lobos have an improved win percentage in each of the last two seasons. The 2024 season concluded with the program’s most total wins (28), conference wins (17) and best Mountain West finish (second) since 2017. This past season was also the first time UNM earned a spot in the conference tournament since 2017.

“We’re excited to have Coach Brown continuing to lead our program and build upon the improvement we’ve seen the last three seasons,” UNM athletic director Eddie Nuñez said. “Tod and his staff have placed an emphasis on elevating the program academically and within the community while giving our student-athletes the ability to compete for championships.”

Brown was first hired by New Mexico in June, 2021.
