ABQ Ride offers hiring incentives, seeks drivers and mechanics

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – ABQ Ride is hosting its 5th annual hiring event with incentives to fill dozens of critical driver, mechanic, and transit safety officer positions. The hiring event will take place Friday, July 26 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Ken Sanchez Transit Facility.

Interested applicants will receive on-site HR support to help with the application and same-day interviews. Applicants can also expect hands-on bus demos, Q&As with current employees, and facility tours.

A driver’s license is required for all positions. Also, bringing proof of education such as transcripts or a degree can help speed up the process. For people who don’t have these records, there will be a WorkKeys Skills Assessment available on-site from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

There are also new hire and transfer incentives for some of the positions. Below is a list of available positions and incentives.

• Motorcoach Operator
• Sun Van Chauffeur
• Vehicle Servicer
• Mechanics Helper
• Mechanic II
• Mechanic III
• Transit Support Service Representative
• Transit Safety Officers

New Hire Incentives:

• Motorcoach Operator (w/o CDL at time of hire) $2,500
• Motorcoach Operator (w/ CDL at time of hire) $5,000
• Mechanic II (w/o CDL at time of hire) $1,000.00
• Mechanic II (w/ CDL at time of hire) $2,500.00
• Mechanic III (w/o CDL at time of hire) $2,500.00
• Mechanic III (w/ CDL at time of hire) $5,000.00
• Transit Vehicle Servicer, $750.00
• Sun Van Chauffeur, $750.00

Transfer Incentives:

• Motorcoach Operator (w/o CDL at time of hire) $500
• Motorcoach Operator (w/ CDL at time of hire) $1,000
• Transit Vehicle Servicer, $750.00
• Sun Van Chauffeur, $750.00
