ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Albuquerque Public Schools said its graduation rates increased slightly last year but the new superintendent said she is not satisfied. The district’s high schools combined for a 72% graduation rate in 2023, an increase of less than 2% from the year before. That figure is also below the state average of 76.7%.

Volcano Vista High School had the highest rate among APS high schools while Del Norte High School came last.

Superintendent Gabriella Blakely, who took over the role earlier this month , said she wants to see gains in the graduation rate and hopes her new strategic plan will make it happen.
