RAGBRAI LI begins in southwest Iowa in pleasant summer conditions
GLENWOOD, Iowa — The Register's Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa is now underway, as the 51st installment began in Glenwood along the Missouri River Sunday morning. The 7-day RAGBRAI will take riders on a southerly route across Iowa, making overnight stops in Red Oak, Atlantic, Winterset, Knoxville, Ottumwa, and Mt. Pleasant before arriving in Burlington Saturday to dip their tires in the Mississippi River.

BLACK HAWK COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG) – A 17-year-old is seriously injured after a rollover crash Saturday in Black Hawk County. Deputies and emergency first responders were dispatched to the 6000 block of North Pilot Grove Road at approximately 2:23 p.m. for an automated crash detection from a cellular phone. They found the driver, a 17-year-old male outside of a 2005 Toyota Corolla after a rollover accident. The driver was the sole occupant and no other vehicles were involved. The male driver was transported to Allen Hospital in Waterloo and then immediately transferred to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for assessment of serious injuries. The accident is under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.

Search Warrants Lead to Drug Arrests in Fayette County
On July 19th, 2024, at approximately 8:00 AM, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office conducted a narcotic search warrant at 710 Mill St. in Clermont. As a result of the warrant Kobe Joseph Detra, 20 of Clermont was arrested and charged with Possession of controlled substance Marijuana 1st offense, Possession of drug paraphernalia, and two counts of child endangerment. Detra was transported to the Fayette County Jail where he awaited his initial appearance and was later released on an unsecured appearance bond. The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol.
