Showers and storms this weekend, warming up next week
EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Saturday should also remain mostly dry, however, there is still a slight chance for some spotty showers or storms in the afternoon. Most of the activity looks to stay to our west over Illinois. Highs will reach the upper 80s. Our best chance for showers and storms arrives on Sunday. An area of low-pressure building over the northern plains will lift moisture northward over the Tri-State. The moisture will materialize in the form of showers and thunderstorms, on-and-off through the day. Some of the storms on Sunday may be strong but the severe weather threat remains low. The main hazards will be heavy rain, lightning, and some gusty winds. Storms will be slow moving, which may prompt some localized areas of flash flooding. Showers and storms will gradually taper off after sunset. Highs on Sunday will remain cooler, only reaching the low to mid 80s.
