LOCAL COWGIRL THRILLS FANS AT CODY STAMPEDE RODEO
CODY, Wyo., July 2, 2024 — No barrel racer has made more runs in the arena at Stampede Park than Hadley Tate, who fulfilled a big goal on Tuesday night. Tate is the daughter of stock contractors Maury and Nikki Tate of Mo’ Betta Rodeo Company. They have supplied animals and produced the Cody Night Rodeo for the last 20 years. The Tate’s main residence is in Apache, Oklahoma, but they spend their summers in Cody. The youngest of the Tate’s two daughters started running barrels here when she was four years old on her Shetland Pony named LuLu.

Wyoming Updates Safe Haven Law to Help Protect Newborn Babies
House Bill 0090, known as the Safety for a Newborn Child Act, went into effect July 1st. This law updates the previous Safe Haven Law to help protect newborn babies. Now parents of babies can safely give up their child for any reason to ensure the baby is cared for and kept safe for up to 60 days. This is an increase from the previous limit of 14 days.

County Museum Hosts Basket Weaving Class Saturday
GREEN RIVER – Folks have a chance to learn how Native Americans weaved baskets during a class that will allow them to create their own. The Sweetwater County Historical Museum will host the class July 6 starting at 10 a.m. at the museum.
