Over $550k in federal grants are coming to Erie County fire departments
ERIE COUNTY, N.Y. — New federal money is coming to Erie County fire departments to help fund operations, safety, and staffing. Eight fire departments in the county are receiving a total of $559,543.17 through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) and Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) programs. The funds are aimed at bettering fire response, support staffing, and safety, according to U.S. Rep. Tim Kennedy and U.S. Rep. Nick Langworthy's offices.
