Marco’s Pizza closes location in southern Loudoun
The Marco’s Pizza restaurant in the South Riding/Chantilly area of southern Loudoun has closed its doors for good. The announcement was made today via social media. “It is with a heavy heart I inform you that Marco’s Pizza in South Riding has permanently closed for business as of yesterday,” co-owner Chris Browne wrote. “It has been a pleasure serving the community over the last seven years. Unfortunately, we were just unable to keep up with rising costs and have reached a point where staying in business has become unsustainable.”

Hillsboro Charter Academy has completed its inaugural “Discovering Flight: Problem Solving with Wilbur and Orville” summer camp. Documentary Details History of Arcola Slave Quarters
A new mini documentary on the history of the Arcola Slave Quarters has been released ahead of a park being developed to further preserve the site’s history. Friends of the Slave Quarters Vice President Phyllis Cook-Taylor said the documentary, produced by David Patterson and directed by Alex Acosta of RH Media, tells the story of efforts to preserve the property since its discovery in the late 1990s including the formation of the Friends of the Slave Quarters in 1998.
