MidAmerican Energy issues update on power outages in Iowa City, Quad Cities, and Des Moines
Good evening Des Moines, Iowa City and Quad Cities assignment desks,. Here is an 11:00 p.m. storm update for Monday, July 15, 2024. As of 11:00 p.m., about 40,000 MidAmerican customers are currently without electric service due to tonight’s severe storm outbreak, including more than 31,000 in the Quad Cities metro area, just under 8,500 in the Des Moines metro area and about 90 in the Iowa City area.

Muscatine sewer projects delayed because of flooding
A Muscatine sanitary sewer replacement project at 813 East 8th St. has been delayed because of Mississippi River flooding, according to a news release. East 8th Street was scheduled to be closed to traffic between Poplar and Spring streets Monday-Friday, July 15-19, but because of the traffic detour for river flooding, the work has been postponed.

DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - The city of Davenport issued a statement Monday on reporting from Quad-Cities media about its role in the building collapse lawsuits. Two local television stations and the newspapers reported in error that the city had been denied qualified immunity — meaning the city wouldn’t be liable in the collapse.
